Will Ferrell Promotes Obamacare on Facebook, Feels Web’s Wrath

Will Ferrell is the latest celebrity enlisted to help pitch the Affordable Care Act to the so-called “young invincible” crowd that needs to sign up in large numbers for the law to function:

But Ferrell’s #GetCovered post on Facebook on Monday led to an acidic sea of comments — over 4,000 and counting at press time, almost all of them negative. The actor’s followers lambasted both Ferrell for wading into politics, interspersed with links to anti-Obamacare articles from Townhall and World Net Daily and Ted Nugent-paraphrasing racist comments about President Barack Obama. Les examples:

However, My Wife and I are strong advocates for getting people "covered" in the very poor, very rural area of Red Arkansas.
Most would qualify for the FREE Medicaid Expansion.

note: Arkansas is one of the few states that opted for a hybrid Public/Private option for Medicaid.
Those who qualify for Medicaid get to choose a Private Carrier.

The Republican party is actively trying to keep Arkansas resident from finding out about this,
even trying to pass laws against advertising on TV, radio, and newspapers,
fearing that too many would apply.

Nate Bell, GOP Lawmaker, Wants To Stop Educating Arkansas' Uninsured About Obamacare
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/18/nate-bell-health-care_n_4810739.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

If I were running the DNC, DCCC, DSCC, and the White House,
I would be blanketing Arkansas with Big Media Buys telling Arkansans to Go Sign UP,
It costs you NOTHING, and when you or your kids get sick,
you can go to a Doctor just like the RICH people do!

(The Median Income for Arkansas is $40K.
Most people I know will qualify for the Medicaid Expansion which literally costs NOTHING).

I would also make sure this bleeds over into other Southern States with Republican Governors who opted out of the Medicaid Expansion.
TV Commercials like:

When the RICH people in your state get sick,
they go to a doctor.
Wouldn't you like to be able to go to a doctor when you or your kids get sick?
You could, IF you had a Democratic Governor.

So far, no help from the Democratic Party,
and ignorance about "ObamaCare" abounds in The South,
but my wife and I are helping as many of our neighbors sign up as possible.

but give me another explanation?

This ONE issue, getting "Coverage" to the people who need it the most
could do MORE for marketing the Democratic Party in The South,
and undercutting the Republican Party than any other issue.

The Party should be ATTACKING the Republican Governors who "opted out" of the Medicaid Expansion by going directly to The Voters in their state (a la Huey Long).
Many, MANY residents of those states WILL DIE because of the Republican Opt Out.
More poor people WILL DIE from lack of Health Insurance in those states than died in 9-11.

New study finds 45,000 deaths annually linked to lack of health coverage
http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/

You do the math:
Many residents of Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Florida... and ALL the other states who "Opted Out" of the Medicaid Expansion have been literally Sentenced to DEATH by these Republican governors!
Don't you think someone should tell them.... BEFORE the 2014 elections?

But on the ground here in the Rural South, its like the Democratic Party is trying to keep it a secret.

If you want to find our governor to criticize his indifference, look for a film crew shooting for TV. He will be found in front of a camera reciting the script written for him by the Koch brothers.

#1) There are MILLIONS of True Blue loyal Democrats living in these states too.
Many of them are just a shade away from turning Blue,
and YOU would deny them Health Insurance out of some misguided prejudice based on ignorance and Black or White thinking???

#2) The outcome from such an information campaign could be the nudge needed to flip one or several of these states from Red to Blue, not to mention helping at the State level too.
Are YOU so confident about 2014 and 2016 that you are willing to throw away this political gain
because of some misguided prejudice based on ignorance and Black or White thinking???

#3) I am a Liberal who chose the Democratic Party BECAUSE I agree with FDR that access to Health Care is a fundamental Human Right, and not something to be denied to certain states that I don't like because of some misguided prejudice based ignorance and Black or White thinking.

#4)The treatment for ignorance is information,
not isolation because of some misguided prejudice based on ignorance and Black or White thinking.

In my ignorance, I fail to see who is responsible for educating the people of any particular state about choosing to elect their own state officials. These are state elections. Are citizens not responsible for anything?

First, this illiterate crowd seems to have found at least minimum-wage-paying work as trolls, and second, it's no doubt costing the Koch brothers a lot to underwrite this operation.

I do wonder, though, whether the job description requires subliterate communication skills, or if that's the best the Koch boys can find to take the job.

I doubt Mr. Ferrell care what a bunch of FB trolls think.
