Romney labeled it one of Obama's "losers", Consumer Reports just labeled it "Best Overall Car"

For those who remember, Romney and Ryan absolutely skewered Obama with his green energy initiatives and loans. From an older MSNBC article:

I seem to recall the Republican (Romney) condemning Obama’s loan to Tesla all the time. In the final months of the race, it was a standard line of attack: the president was recklessly using our money, Romney said, to “pick losers.” Obama was so irresponsible, he even invested in Tesla Motors.

Romney was so fond of the criticism, he even brought it up during one of the debates. Paul Ryan joined in on the fun, condemning Tesla’s loan on the stump as well.
_________

Tesla paid the loans back ahead of schedule, but the Republicans still wouldn't show any excitement for the car company. Maybe this will change their minds:

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Consumer Reports named Tesla's Model S as its top pick in the 'Best Overall Car' category, in its annual Auto Issue, which rates the best and safest cars.
The Tesla beat out competitors like the Audi A6, Toyota Prius and BMW 328i in the ratings conducted by the the independent product-testing magazine. The reviewers picked the Model S for its “blistering acceleration, razor-sharp handling, compliant ride and versatile cabin.”

This is the first time a U.S. automaker has has won in the overall category, ending the domination of Japanese cars, which traditionally earned 70 percent of the magazine’s best-car spots since 1997, but only earned half that number this year.

Analysts have said that if Tesla, the youngest of the major U.S. automakers, can reduce the costs of its batteries, it could double its chunk of the global car market to one percent. The California-based automaker has said that it will see a 56 percent increase in deliveries, about 35,000 cars, this year.

3. Ha ha, yep and now he's an expert. I think we need to hang this around Ryan's neck. He needs to

be shown for the fool he is. He jumped on the anti-Tesla, anti-green band wagon. It needs to be brought up every chance someone gets that he was dead wrong about this. The car is being built in the United States and is expected to be shipped all over the world. Jobs, profit, lower carbon emissions.

but if I only cared about driving, I wouldn't worry much about the kids. There is that attitude, which apparently buys lots of stuff.

14. Your best investment advice in general is to find out what Romney is buying, and not buy that

IIRC, no link sorry, Romney bought 23 companies when he was running Bane Capital. (Yes, this is a Batman reference.)

Ten of his deals made Romney a shitload of money. Of the rest, one-third lost money but stayed in business, one-third went bankrupt, and the remainder not only went under but took all Romney's backers' money with them.

In auto racing terms, he's a checkers-or-wreckers investor. He either wins huge or loses huge - no middle ground here. Fortunately for him, when he gets it right he REALLY gets it right.
