HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – Crews are still on the scene of a fire at the Majestic Hotel in Hot Springs.

Hot Springs Fire chief Ed Davis led a meeting Friday morning and said the plan continues to be containment to the oldest part of the hotel complex and keep the fire from jumping to Lenai Towers to the southwest.

Davis said this will be hard since the building is a city block square and the can't get to it form the west because of cliffs and steep terrain.

Central Avenue is shut down for about six blocks, and several business will not be open today, and expect to be closed for at least today and possibly Saturday.
