WTF: Pope Francis drops Italian swear word into Sunday blessing
Pope Francis mistakenly used an Italian swear word Sunday during his weekly blessing from the Vatican.
The 77-year-old Argentinian delivered the blessing from his apartment window in Italian but stumbled over the word "caso," which means "example," and pronounced it as "cazzo," which is a coarse synonym for “penis.”
The word is used in the phrase "que cazzo," which is roughly equivalent to the English phrase that’s abbreviated as "WTF."
The pope had been urging for a peaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis when he made the slip-up.
"In this (d*ck), in this case the providence of God is made visible as gesture of solidarity," Pope Francis said, literally.
