Cop gets wrist slapped after conviction of multiple offenses.

Allow me to introduce you to Kieth Buckley, former Lieutenant who was due to be promoted to Captain in the North Brunswick Police Department. What we already know is that Kieth Buckley was considered a good cop, and was a supervisor of other cops. This good cop passed his test for Captain, and one can only assume he was able to color within the lines, and celebrated by taking his Brother's Dodge Viper out for a joyride with a fellow cop to celebrate.

While speeding on the city streets, Kieth Buckley lost control of the car, crashed it, and killed his fellow officer Christopher Zerby.

Lieutenant Buckley was sentenced to three years for Official Misconduct.

Now, lets say I was so irresponsible and foolish as to do something similar. I borrow a car, race about in it, crash and kill a passenger. What would be the charges that I would face? Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, and Vehicular Manslaughter come right off the top of my head. I imagine I'd be really lucky to get out of prison in a decade. If the passenger was a cop (Like I'd have one in my car) then you can bet the book would have been thrown at me.

Rules for thee, not for the PD silly rabbit.

Even when something so egregious is found that the cop does get charged, a rare enough occurrence, the sentences are always much lighter than the regular people, because, well he was a cop, and you have to understand that they have a tough job.

I'm betting that nobody says that he shot himself in the head while wearing handcuffs.

Anyone want to bet that a black man who wasn't a cop wouldn't have been given two sets of cuffs for comfort sake?

The accident took place in 2008. Now, if it was me accused, any doubts that I'd have been found guilty before 2009 came to a close?
