Teabaggers opted to take the blue pill (short rant)
No, not Viagra. I’m talking about the choice of the blue and red pills offered by Morpheus in “The Matrix.”
They chose to stay in a world of non-reality. They chose to not know that their every thought and deed was being determined by a machine called the GOP echo chamber. They chose total and absolute ignorance. They’re living in a dream world, while we are left to live amidst the wreckage they’re leaving.
Here, in the real world, it may take many generations before the damage is repaired. A few decades ago, when humans set foot on the moon, I really believed that the dark ages of mankind were behind us. How naïve I was.
In the meantime, the barbarism continues. I don’t know if any of us will be around to see a new renaissance. All we can do is hold onto reality and never forget that we are on the right side of history. We took the red pill.
