http://americablog.com/2014/03/russian-neo-nazi-leader-still-using-putin-friendly-social-media-giant-vk-plan-abductions-young-gays.htmlRussian neo-Nazi leader Maxim Martsinkevich continues to organize and execute his nationwide spree of homophobic, anti-semitic and racist kidnappings from prison, with the help of Russian social media giant VKontakte (aka VK.com).
Just yesterday, Martsinkevich posted a help-wanted request on VK.com, seeking coconspirators to conduct more kidnappings of minorities in Russia. (Martsinkevichs organization, called Occupy Pedophilia, claims to have conducted nearly 1,500 abductions in the past 18 months.)
VK.com, founded by Russian social media mogul Pavel Durov, and now-controlled by friend-of-Putin billionaire-oligarch Alisher Usmanov, is the platform favored by Russian neo-Nazis when planning and publicizing the nearly 1,500 abductions they claim to have committed in just the past two years.
Neither Putin-friendly VK.com, nor Putin himself, seem to have much interest in taking on the Nazis in their midst. Which is ironic, since the Russian government has used the Nazis are coming leitmotif to describe the unrest in Ukraine, and to justify Moscows invasion and occupation of Crimea, for a while now:

(53,934 posts)I have found the wailing and gnashing of teeth over Ukrainian Nazis as distracting and disingenuous as those suddenly concerned about anti-Semitism and homophobia. While certainly concerned about the situation in Ukraine, I have mostly watched the "Battle of the Propagandists" with limited amusement.

MOSCOW - A notorious Russian neo-Nazi leader who has targeted migrant workers and gay people has been detained in Moscow over a hate crime charge after being deported from Cuba.
Maxim Martsinkevich, nicknamed "The Hatchet", faced questioning by investigators on Tuesday after flying back on Monday evening, said a spokeswoman for Moscow's Investigative Committee.
"The investigation plans to brief Martsinkevich on the charge against him and question him as the defendant," spokewoman Viktoria Tsyplenkova told the Interfax news agency.
"Yesterday he was deported and taken to Moscow," a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Vladimir Konovalov, told AFP.
The 29-year-old ultra-nationalist has been charged with inciting hatred after publishing "extremist" videos on his personal VKontakte social networking page. He faces up to five years in prison.
