Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's likely Democratic challenger for re-election criticized him for holding a gun high on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday.

McConnell was giving a rifle to Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) as a lifetime achievement award from the National Rifle Association. Grimes previously challenged McConnell to meet her at a gun range.

McConnell trails Grimes by 4 points, according to a recent Louisville Courier-Journal poll.
