No surprises - Rep Darrell Issa (R) was arrested twice - once for stealing a Masserati

and once for carrying a concealed weapon found when he was found driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street.

And this is the man that tried to shut up Representative Elijah Cummings.

There's much more. Check out wiki on this individual. He's a first-class a-h and there's a lot that should be known about him. He's another Republican piece of trash.

1982: Issa Suspected, But Never Charged, In Arson Incident At Manufacturing Plant. According to the Los Angeles Times: "A suspected arson fire ripped through [Issa's Ohio] manufacturing plant in 1982. No one was ever charged in the fire, but authorities were troubled by a dramatic escalation in the facility's fire insurance just weeks earlier. Even before the blaze was put out, investigators began peppering Issa and his partner with 'crazy questions' regarding their whereabouts before the fire, Issa recalled." [Los Angeles Times, 5/23/98, via Nexis, emphasis added]

Prior To Fire, Issa "Boosted" Fire Insurance And Removed A Computer From The Premises. According to the Los Angeles Times: "Weeks before the fire, Issa and [business partner Miles] Hunsinger boosted their fire insurance from $ 100,000 to $ 462,000 on property stored for other companies...At the same time, a separate company that contracted with Quantum to outfit bug zappers increased its insurance to $ 400,000, and, according to an insurance report, one investigator was 'concerned about the coincidence.' Fire investigators also noted that a computer was taken off the site eight days before the fire, 'allegedly to be reprogrammed' by Issa's lawyer, and that business blueprints were put away in a safe -- which was 'not previously done before.'" [Los Angeles Times, 5/23/98, via Nexis]

"Suspicious Burn Patterns" And "Out Of Normal Practice" Behavior Alerted Investigators. The Washington Post reported: "Investigators reported 'suspicious burn patterns' and said the fire may have been set. A company bookkeeper, Karen Brasdovich, also told them that computers and records had been removed from the site days before the fire for no clear reason. 'It was totally out of normal practice,' she said in a telephone interview last week." [Washington Post via FTLComm.com, 7/8/03]

AC Custom Fire: Flammable Liquid Had "Been Poured On The Only Area Not Covered By Fire Sprinklers." The Los Angeles Times reported that "seven months after Issa took control," a fire broke out at the "Quantum manufacturing plant." "Case files from Maple Heights, the Ohio fire marshal and insurers pointed repeatedly to the likelihood of arson in the blaze, which officials estimated caused $ 800,000 in damage. Although an accident could not be ruled out, the uneven and unnatural burn patterns made the blaze 'suspicious in nature,' the state concluded two months later. Flammable liquid appeared to have been poured on the only area not covered by fire sprinklers, investigators found." [Los Angeles Times, 5/23/98, via Nexis, emphasis added]

Congressman. I'm not implying his wealth came from illegal activities, but where did he get his money to make him so rich?

"Before his election to Congress, the Californian made his fortune founding Directed Electronics — based in Vista, Calif. — which manufactures car alarms. Now Issa appears to make his money in the stock market. "

Wouldn't he have been investigated if he (as you implied) had done something fishy in order to get his money?

They expect their politicians to talk the talk and whip up their derangement. They live in their bubble and accuse the 'lame stream media' and 'liberal establishment' of persecuting their darlings. Gay scandals are their only unjustifiable crimes. They'll dismiss everything else.

I think it is just a sham to keep the plebes happy. If the snakes can have their tentacles (excuse the mixed metaphore) in all other parts of the american "government" why not just own the counting process. They own the reporting (network) one already.

He's the guy that the powerful go to, to get things done, because he'll "do whatever it takes" as Crenna says in the movie. Whatever dirty deed that needs done...he's the guy.

on edit: can't believe he keeps getting elected in California of all places. Lucky he didn't become governor when he broadsided Grey Davis.

30. 2003: Issa Cries Over Premature Withdrawal from Guv Race after being bumrushed by the Terminator:

In 2003, Issa led the psychotic effort to recall California Governor Gray Davis – who was undone by energy crisis market manipulation by Enron. Alas! Part two of the Issa plan – to put his own fat ass in the Governor’s office – abruptly ran aground when The fucking Terminator decided to get in the race. Comically claiming, “It had nothing to do with Schwarzenegger’s decision,” Issa made his premature withdrawal sobbing uncontrollably.

The infamous video showing Issa crying like a little girl who didn’t get her pony as he concluded his gubernatorial ambitions, never gets old:

It’s only slightly unsatisfying because when watching it live when it happened, it went on for like twenty minutes of him sobbing and gasping and struggling to talk.

More on this piece of work at this link, pictures, information:

Everything you didn’t want to know about Darrell “BENGHAAAZII$!!II” Issa because you had better things to do with your time.

http://teensleuth.com/blog/?p=19746

Well worth the read, if you have the time, as it's the full story of this psychopathic waste of oxygen. If he'd become governor of CA, he'd have run it into the ground like Christie did NJ for his crooked and demented pals. But it means nothing to his voting base, who turn out in droves every election. Wonder if they are in on the scam?

Issa was the financial backer of the Gray Davis recall effort. His plan was to be elected Governor in the recall. Ahnold entering the race destroyed that plan.

So he ran for Congress.

Issa has a record of insurance fraud, weapons charges, car theft, among others. He financed the recall of CA Gov. Gray Davis for Karl Rove in exchange for the governorship. Rove double-crossed him and installed serial adulterer Aaahhhnold. Rove then helped him get a seat in the House and Committee chairmanship.

Issa cannot withstand sunlight on his past.
