Medicare - Stupid Republican Seniors

My Republican husband was watching local news this morning. A piece came on about ACA and how people must sign up for it. OBAMA! That is YOU because you are not working and I don't cover you under MY employer insurance
WHAT????? I turned 65 last November and signed up online for MEDICARE all on my own. He even DRAGGED me to the Social Security Office last October to talk to someone about this. HE, too, got Medicare Part A automatic in October, but opted out of Part B, and got MEDICARE ADVANTAGE though his employer's insurance. Brain dead? To top it all off, he INSISTED that I sign up for Medicare Part B, which is $104/month, but HE thought was $300+ a month and so I am paid for through almost the end of the year. He started ranting about MEDICAID. He does not know the difference between Medicare and Medicade?! OMG.

Does the man have AMNESIA? Or is it just HATRED for Obama? Sorry, dear husband, Medicare existed LONG before Barack Obama. BTW, with your "private employer plan" (NO GOVERNMENT) when your turned 65, Medicare is your PRIMARY Insurer. Am I right about that??????

I want to SCREAM how Republican Seniors are so BLIND and STUPID to even just the BASICS. It took a lot on part to not go ballistic over what he say. Calm, stay calm, and REFUTE everything he says.

I understand the confusion.
You just need to see it with an open mind. NOT as a Teapublican!
Currently, I get a 'nice' retirement benefit 'kick in'.
I might not have even been able to use ACA.
Right now, it just doesn't matter. I'm OK with where I am.

In a few years, that all changes.
In some ways its like falling off the end of the world.
It made no sense to look into things like MEDICARE ADVANTAGE and although not in these exact words it was pointed out....
"You are not in that group and it may change from year to year."

"Calm, stay calm". Look at the options. See if ACA can do anything for you.
If it does, present it as a package as in.....
Here, this is better and less expensive and this is what we are going to do.

If it is any help, many people have to sign up for a plan on a yearly basis. Myself included.
