I don't think there are any Pro-Putin people on DU but I also wanted to point out that you can have a nuanced view because strictly speaking Snowden is a "Putin-lover", so how do people who support Snowden reconcile his cooperation with the Putin regime?

(18,184 posts)that said anyone who was Pro-Putin was anti-gay.
In practice, Snowden is Pro-Putin, which might cause a dilemma for some.
I'm using this poll to show how ridiculous all the pro- and anti- popularity contests on DU are.
Geopolitics is more complex than boxing people into simplistic groups.

(53,016 posts)The issue of NSA surveillance of American citizens is far more important than Snowden as an individual, yet the latter is all people discuss. In regard to Putin, there is some justification of focusing on him in the Crimea situation since he controls foreign policy, but the issue is not about whether one likes or dislikes him but the geopolitical concerns that arise from that conflict. I really wish people would forsake the continual focus on individuals and deal with some of the broader issues at stake.
