The Democratic Party Dilemma Over Obamacare...

Democratic incumbents are running scared in fear of the next election. They have a deathly fear that they are going to lose because of "Obamacare".

So they try to sit on the fence and do not take a stand. Or they will say something like, "I support it but it needs to be fixed..." Few will come out and say that they support it wholeheartedly.

What should they do?

In my opinion, if they voted for it, they should be willing and able to defend it. Surely there are enough positive aspects about it to sell it to the voting public? Kids insured up to age 26. No more dropping you off your insurance when you get sick. No more disqualifying you for coverage because you have a pre-existing condition. No more bankruptcy and losing your home and life savings if you have a catastrophic illness. Can you not sell that?

If you are not able to defend Obama, then I would suggest that you recommend its repeal. But be sure to ask about what is going to replace it? Put your opponent on the spot and make them present their plan. Your preference could be a single-payer system if Obamacare is repealed. That is a strong hand to hold at this time because the Republicans cannot offer to simply return to the old system because it was rotten.

Either option is a winning hand for the Democrats, in my opinion. But they have to stop their running scared on Obamacare. Either defend it or ask for its repeal. But stop this cowardly approach like the candidate in Florida used before she was defeated.

I know the GOP is running on Obamacare this year, but I think that's a mistake... unless the Dems are foolish enough to start apologizing for it. Dems who apologize for any Dem policy are shooting themselves in the foot.
