Shocking racist tweets follow high school basketball win by all-white team

Gotta look at this story out of Michigan in the context of the White Man March, a pathetic epic failure of a white version of 1995's "Million Man March":

HOWELL, MI -- Shocking tweets celebrating a "white" team's victory erupted Thursday following the Howell boys basketball win over Grand Blanc.

Several students in Howell are now facing disciplinary action, according to the high school principal.

Grand Blanc lost 54-49 to Howell in the Class A regional final at Linden High School Thursday.

Among the Twitter messages posted after the game the night of March 13:

"Not only did we beat Grand Blanc but we're all white. Howell's the definite winner tonight."

"All hail white power. #HitlerIsMyDad"

You know teens can be jerks, but this is just at a whole 'nother level! Howell is a city of 9,000 evenly between Lansing and Detroit. Given this is the middle of nowhere essentially (Michigan DUers correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think this is even shocking.

In the 60's there was a billboard on the highway there that read, " Get US out of the UN." John Birch Society stuff.

5. Thom Hartmann, who grew up in Lansing, has told similar tales on his radio show.

I think Thom has said that when he was a teenager he volunteered for the Goldwater campaign and attended Birch meetings with his dad.

HOWELL, Mich., May 22 - Like the ghost of a Confederate soldier, Robert E. Miles still haunts this sleepy mid-Michigan town.

It is hard for residents here to forget the times when Mr. Miles, a former grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who died in 1992, would invite fellow Klansmen to his farm outside the city limits. Although Mr. Miles's cross-burning gatherings took place in neighboring Cohoctah Township, it was Howell that was branded as a haven of white supremacist activity.
