Snowstorm Set to Sweep from St. Louis to DC

Spring officially starts on Thursday, but Mother Nature will bring another blast of winter weather from Missouri to Delaware before the seasons change.

A winter full of nasty snow and ice will not end quietly as a gathering storm across the southern Plains on Saturday slides east and collides with a fresh cold air mass on Sunday into Monday.

While the focus initially will be on severe weather, a wintry mess will quickly unfold into Monday.

As yet another push of cold air drives southward across the Midwest and Great Lakes, moisture will surge northward. A swath of snow and sleet is expected to develop from Missouri eastward along the Ohio River on Sunday.

While the precipitation may start as a brief period of rain, the arrival of cold air should allow the majority of the precipitation to fall as snow or sleet in cities such as Springfield and St. Louis, Mo., Louisville, Ky., and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Causing endless hardship for those who have jobs they have to get to..while schools have to close leaving many hardworking (barely getting by parents) with kids scrambling ..with no caretaker..and cancellations in everything from Medical, Dental, Business' Commerce, Food Service Industries and Homeowners strapped with missed appointments, frozen pipes and other emergencies/hardships that cause stress for everyone....and our fragile economy.

We all deserve a all across America for this dreadful Winter...which ain't over yet...
And for many we have Hurricane Season and more Drought to look forward to...

the dogs out to the north garden that neither them nor I have been able to visit since late December.

The snow was bad enough but what really hurt was the brutal, continual cold and the associated heating costs.

Can't wait to put the boat in the water and have a lazy day fishing and soaking up the sun!

I just can't wrap my head around the idea that we're facing yet one more round of snow in 36 hours.

I'm sick of it. We're going to end up with a short spring I imagine, then launch right into an early hot summer.

Some spots have up to a 4 foot frost line! Unreal and a whole different ballgame this spring.

We just can't catch a break. The ground is either frozen solid or nothing but mud. Going out when it thaws creates horrible damage.

We need spring to get here so the grasses and trees can start to uptake some of the water from the snow melt.

it just comes in a shorter extremely potent blast.

I remember the last short spring we had. The tree pollen coming down looked like snow.
