Corporate welfare is out of control in America. The Tea Party talks constantly about its undying love for the American family, and its fundamental goal of alleviating those families financial burdens at tax time. However, their rhetoric is empty if not insulting when one attempts to reconcile their expressed intentions with their political actions.
Congress, and especially the neo-conservatives in the house whom laughingly profess themselves as republicans, vote first and foremost in line with the desires of the top twenty-percent of American earners. These are fortune 500 CEOs, whom are already at the top of the social-economic ladder. Why is the government giving them taxpayer money they absolutely do not need, which isnt really theirs to give away, and, furthermore, why havent the voters put their foot down?
The answer has several parts: a lack of transparency and accountability in congress, and other government bodies like the Supreme Court, allows the minority in the house to do whatever they want with essentially no fear of retaliation or loss of support from their constituents. Redistricting is a major culprit in the fostering of this autocratic privilege. There are multiple inter-connected failures of our political system allowing corrupt delegates to sneak literal fortunes right out of the taxpayers coffers and into the bank accounts of the affluent sociopaths paying the charlatans to hide their subsidies in needlessly complicated budget bills.
