it may be someone i had to put on ignore for a user starting with a P and second part with a W.. since everyone is being a bit cryptic it seems, i guess it's against the rules to actually spell out the name even after banishment?

If we are going my numbers of posts...I don't think that will work. Several persons with varying degrees of Obama love/hate/disappointment, share huge number of posts.
If they are paid, what proof do you have for any of them?
If there is a passion......that makes them a professional? And that professional has several handles?
Vague, pissy little accusations because someone doesn't like posting habits, is just inane.

(18,115 posts)It is glaringly obvious, but not common. There are only 3 that I could say I am certain are here to message control.
The rest are just passionate or followers or enthusiastic volunteers. I have no problem with them. The few that are here as part of their job, I consider trolls. They should at least have the guts to be honest and transparent about it.
BlueStreak
(8,377 posts)I don't see where the person who seemingly embraced warring about everything using pretzel-like reasoning added anything to this site. Three are plenty of people I disagree with, but few who bring such little value to this site as PW.
If the comparison is with Will Pitt, I don't think it is "special treatment" to bear in mind the many valuable contributions he has made here, even if one post if found to be offensive.
Egnever
(21,506 posts)his two previous bannings?
BlueStreak
(8,377 posts)He has no body of work other than trolling, and this site is a better place with him gone.
If you are talking about Will Pitt, he has a significant body of work.
Egnever
(21,506 posts)Will was banned twice before.
BlueStreak
(8,377 posts)because I am not aware of the circumstances. I stand by the point of considering the cumulative body of work. That doesn't mean that a person should get unlimited free passes, but I don't think you use the same standards for obvious trolls that you use for people who are net contributors and also ruffle feathers along the way.
Egnever

Maybe they do just want a certain amount of "pot stirring." I am not sure otherwise why this rightward shift of DU over the years since 09 has happened.
morningfog
(18,115 posts)I'm not suggesting it is an intentional business model, but certain levels of controversy or pot stirring help the site sustain itself. Some posters just can't do that within the bounds. Some only occasionally go too far.
The rightward shift is a mix of centrist dems taking control and unlocking the gungeon.

AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Results of your Jury Service

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Mean guy gosssip makes DU suck. Also amounts to a personal insult against a member and whining about DU
administrators for not. Banning who Bonobo and Pintobean want banned.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Mar 20, 2014, 10:19 PM, and the Jury voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: "Mean guy gossip". That's funny. How many posts just like this appear in a particular protected group? There is nothing hidable here.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Takes one to know one.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Agree with the alerter, this is a call out. If you have an issue with someone, put them on ignore. That's what it's for.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: meh
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I have no earthly idea what this is about. But I don't see a violation of TOS in this post, no names, no demeaning insults, certainly not over the top. Maybe a few insiders do, I don't know. But I do know that the jury system has been and is being abused for personal vendettas and score-setting. I choose not to give my consent to that abuse of the alert system.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Love the BOMB group name.

The GHG ~ Glass House Gang also has possibilities.
Seeking Serenity
(2,840 posts)I was Juror No. 6 on this alert. So, In The Wind, I thank you for your props.
And I stand by my statement. While I appreciate the democratic (small d) overtones of allowing juries of our peers to decide on questionable or doubtful posts, I do think the system is being abused by some (I won't say who, because, frankly, I don't know who) as a means of attempting to get DUers who other DUers either don't like or have a disagreement with or whatever suspended or at worse PPR'd for no other reason than they just don't like them or they disagree with a deeply held belief. And I choose not to give my consent to the abuse of the system in that way.
Now, am I right in my perception of all this?
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)Mebbe the 7 member jury will help.
I'm not going to point fingers at any one person or group because the Admins are aware of exactly who is alerting on who. A 6-0 decision to leave a post gives the person doing the alert a 24 hour time out. But the odds are that same person spends a lot of time doing alerts. I remember my first term as a GD Host ... there was one member who would alert ten or more times per day. We laughed about the alerts as we dealt with the problem.
Seeking Serenity
(2,840 posts)Geez, I'd love to have that much free time on my hands. As it happens (as reflected by the fact that I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary as a poster here at DU but still only have some 2,100 posts to my name), my life in the real world consumes so much of my time that I can't spend as much in the virtual one.
But no, I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I ain't got time for that, either.
RiffRandell
(5,909 posts)I vaguely remember a story about them causing a member here professional problems; I don't know if they posted there, though.
Members have actually gone there and discussed other members? That's wrong, and grounds for banning imo.
