The last one hit it on the head! It applies to all the wars, conflicts, and "police actions" that the chicken hawks want to send American troops to. Getting soldiers killed for a political point is much more meaningful when you have skin in the game. It is even more so when your own kids are the ones wearing the uniforms. I have offered to drive people to the recruiter when they wanted the US to use force. So far, no one has taken me up on it.
