The average voter would have no idea of what you speak, maybe that's the problem. CK_John Mar 2014 #2

I don't think too much information would suit the Third Way, but I do think that if the Dems in Washington took just as strong liberal starting stances as the GOP take in Kochbagger stances, maybe that would wake some of the electorate up.

YES, I know we cannot get pretty much anything these days of what we feel is right, but I do know it is better to ask and be denied ON THE RECORD than to be seen as conceding right out of the gate. It looks to many as if the Dems partially agree with the GOP, they give in so easily. How much is Third Way and how much is (IMO lame) attempts at that mythical bipartisan thing, dunno. Bipartisanship is the biggest fucking unicorn. It just means giving the baggers what they want in steady increments.

Maybe if the Dems tried right now for MEANINGFUL help with student loans, cost of college, etc., they could get the college students out to the polls. At least fucking TRY. Get it on the goddam table, instead of putting Social Security there. So far all I have seen in the plans to get out the vote are sneers. The GOP can run on telling voters that the Dems proposed social security cuts and now I hear Obama was all okay with raising the medicare age or something like that.
All the electorate, the vast majority of them, need is sound bites. They are not gonna hit the internet and check things out.

And that makes me wonder - Cui bono? Who stands to get the benefit of sneering at liberals and progressives, who stands to benefit from useless scolding of registered Dems by calling them lazy and stupid? Who stands to gain the most by insulting "emo-progs" and telling them to sit down and shut up, and that they are out of step with the Third Way, and thus not really wanted in today's corporate Dem party? Who benefits? Not the Democratic Party.

Don't legislate for liberals, excoriate them and tell them to STFU. Seems like a concerted effort.
