Billy Grahams daughter wonders if missing airliner offers a small snapshot of the Rapture

The daughter of famed evangelist Billy Graham says a missing airliner offers a glimpse of a post-Rapture world.
Anne Graham Lotz wondered last week on her blog where the 239 passengers and crew members had gone after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished, reported Right Wing Watch.
The author and evangelist said she cant help but wonder if its disappearance is similar to events forecast in Thessalonians 4:17, when true believers will be taken from Earth by God to Heaven.
Is this worldwide sense of shock and helplessness, of questions and confusion, of fear and grief, a glimpse of things to come? Lotz wrote. Is this a small snapshot of what the entire world will experience the day after the rapture of the church?
She said the Bible was clear, and that Christ would return after the Rapture but before the end of days.
There is coming a moment in time when Jesus will come back to gather to Himself all those dead and alive who have put their trust in Him, Lotz wrote. And on that day, the world will be asking, Where have all the people gone? Not just 239 of us, but millions of us.
If shes right, lets hope that CNNs Don Lemon will be left behind to speculate what has happened.

(20,885 posts)My mother used to point to him as an example of a "very intelligent" Christian. I was adolescent and not brought up Christian. And then, when his Crusade was televised, I got two hours of his dispensation of total nonsense.
I can't remember what he said, but I remember it being as unconvincing as astrology or numerology. I was kind of astounded at how lame it sounded.

(9,962 posts)It depends on what your experience was, I suppose. I was brought up Christian (Episcopalian) and had pretty decent biblical knowledge. My parents had been respectively Presbyterian and Northern (now known as American) Baptist before that. Billy Graham's background was Southern Baptist and we didn't any of us go along with it, but he *was* educated and articulate, whether you agreed with him or not. His kids are just plain wack jobs, at least Franklin and Anne are. The others have the decency to keep quiet.

(2,434 posts)the likelihood that most on this airline were muslim or hindu? Maybe Buddhist? Oh, I'm sorry, that would mean she actually "thought".

(10,421 posts)I'm pretty sure that most of the passengers were Asian, which means that they were Moslem, Buddhist, or something similar. The two pilots were Moslems. Since we all know that only Fundamentalist Christians are going to get Raptured, her argument is even more illogical than most.
I still think that the passengers are stuck on Lost Island with the polar bears and smoke monster.

(4,015 posts)Are you having such a beautiful day as we are? I'm on vacation and we're hitting 20 degrees celsius today...
You actually managed to take a picture of one of my favorite places, the Paul Klee center, which is always worth a visit.
I still chuckle at Wankdorf, even after more than 5 years in Bern. I still take great delight in living in Bethlehem, too
As an avid hiker, I have come to know and appreciate many funny names in this country... Have I ever told you about climbing le grand sex in Vaud? Or the time I passed through Bitsch? How about spending a night in Mösli? Of course, after sleeping in Mösli you might feel the need to hike the Alm called Schwanz. If that is too testostery for you, you might consider cooling off in a little forrest called Busenwald. If you're ever in Frauenfeld, do check out Spannerstrasse. Contrary to what you might imagine, that street isn't adjacent to Im Nippel, where my girlfriend and I once checked out a house we wanted to buy.
I think our senses of humor are well matched in the field of juvenility!
I hope that you are well and enjoying life in beautiful Ticino!

(4,876 posts)See, in the future the human race will be dying off so future people will use their time machines to travel back in time to take people to the future so they can re-populate the earth..
Why get people off a plane you ask? Well the plane was due to crash anyway so this way they don't screw up the space-time continuum by taking someone who may have done something important in the future.
Just as plausible as "Rapture"..
And if you think it sounds like a bad "B" movie plot...
