The window of when a battery that lasts about 30 days runs down has to be several days wide.

and honestly, the 30 days is a really important fact. Lose the black box and you lose the cause of this accident unless the wreckage tells the story.

It was like the countdown to the New Year for them or something. They dramatize everything in a way that makes it seem like a movie instead of reality.
