A plug for three Democratic women in critical races...

Of course there's been quite a bit of chat about Wendy Davis and her Texas campaign for Governor and that's great! But I'd also like to mention two other women running for Senate in critical races: Alison Lundergan Grimes of Kentucky, who has a real shot at tossing Mitch McConnell OUT of the Capitol, and Natalie Tennant, who hopes to fill the vacancy that will be left by the retirement of Jay Rockefeller in West Virginia. The latter race will be really tough. Please support the campaigns of all these Democrats. Thanks!

There are 36 Senate seats up for re-election this year: 21 held by Democrats and 15 by Republicans. There are seven open seats where no incumbent is running, and five of them are currently Democratic-held in Iowa, Michigan, Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia. Republicans are heavily favored to pick up at least two of those seats, in South Dakota and West Virginia.

...I gave Wendy some early financial support, but I still don't see how she wins in a State that elected Ted Cruz by over a million votes just two years ago.

Natalie is worth supporting because holding the Senate needs to be our top priority, but she has some real headwinds.

Alison has the best shot of the three, but actually the better shot may be Michelle Nunn in Georgia, where the Republican Primary competitors are out-Tea Partying each other any may find it hard to pivot back for the General Election.

She is up against Shelley Moore Capito, longtime Rep from WV and daughter of former Gov. Arch Moore. Capito is a real piece of work and has amassed quite a war chest over the years. I do not agree with all of Natalie's positions but believe me, Capito would be a nightmare for the Senate.
