The Dystopian Sci fi film Snowpiecer

By Acclaimed Korean Director Joon-ho Bong puts the world on a train from hell, The film is set in a future where a runaway experiment to stop global warming has caused an ice age that killed nearly all life on Earth. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the 'Snowpiercer', a massive train that travels around the planet and is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. Over time a class system evolves on the train, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the back of the train. Tired of their poor living conditions, the riders in the back revolt, attempting to seize control of the engine, which the elites in the front consider sacred.

The distributing company in north america is demanding Bong slash the 126-minute running time by 20 minutes for the US version, their aim is to make sure the film 'will be understood by audiences in Iowa ... and Oklahoma". So catch the international version. Koreans have come into their own as masters of the craft.

but why not a class struggle against the 1% that involves the disaster that occurs when they prevent mitigation of global climate change?

I hate criticism based upon the concept of "here's what you should do." Someone once said that the best way to criticize a movie is to make your own so have at it. Let us know when you get the script done, OK.

My criticism stems from the fact that we have enough "we shouldn't fix climate change because" propaganda floating around without help from the sci-fi crowd.

As for this:

Someone once said that the best way to criticize a movie is to make your own so have at it.

Once I have invested my time and/or money watching a movie, I have the right to criticize it, whether the movie maker likes it or not.

Like the idea to fill the upper atmosphere with powdered sulfur.

All sorts of really intelligent, yet still completely dumb ideas out there, all on the premise of NOT stopping carbon emission, but rather fiddling another knob to make up the difference.

I was so excited to hear about this film until I found out the idiot was going to cut it.

And I live in fucking OKLAHOMA!!

He is the fucking moron if he thinks butchering a movie will somehow let him make a few more bucks off it.

Asshole philistine.

In the future the elite live on a pristine space station with no diseases or imperfections. The rest of humanity struggles on a toxic garbage dump called Earth. The underclasses struggle to reach Elysium to have access to among other things the cures for diseases the elites have access to.
