Looking at the "up in the air" senate elections, I thought...Jesus..why can't we
harness all the energy on DU. WE NEED TO WIN LOUISIANA
So, need feedback/interest in a preliminary idea for[font color =red] DU NOLA[font color=black].
1. Solicit DU people here who are free to travel in October/November to New Orleans (dem stronghold)
2. Solicit people here who may want to donate a dollar to finance this venture
(We can recruit an honest DUer to manage/report the expenses) - or - contact Landrieu's
campaign?
3. Contact Mitch Landrieu for coordination/assistance.
3. Rent a big old house or two in NOLA - for DU volunteers to stay. (I am a planner
and would volunteer to schedule the rooms/beds)
4. Anyone and everyone who can take a day, a week, a month, sign up to come down.
5. Anyone and everyone here who can't travel - can take a call list
6. [font color=blue]Work our asses off - Registering Voters, Canvasing and GOTV-ing[font color=black]

players in it. The man's going DOWN.

(4,423 posts)Was just talking on the phone about my hometown in the blue-belt of SW Georgia --- I'm expecting good turnout there for these midterms (NOT the norm) because a former mayor has made it known that he will run this year against the man who unseated him. This will guarantee turnout, but we need to make sure that people know why they should vote in the VERY IMPORTANT up-ballot races.
But what about the rest of Georgia's blue-belt? How can we get them energized?
Count me in! I can send a few bucks to NOLA and might have a few more ideas about Georgia - SW, that is.

(118 posts)Or team up with them if they're already on the ground in the states we must win...I worked with them in Colorado for the 2012 election. They were amazing - they had lists of all prospective/likely Dem voters. They knew who needed to still register. They called, emailed and knocked on doors to turn out our voters (and drive them to the polls if needed) Can we work together with them to find our core voters,
make certain they are registered, have required voter IDs and get them to the polls. Count me in for support! Let's roll, DU!!
