Irish setter saves owner after crash

An Irish Setter named Amber is being hailed as an Alaskan hero after saving her owner's life. The Alaskan State Troopers released a statement revealing the amazing tale.

Amber's owner was badly injured in a snowmobile crash and he was unable to move. Amber kept him warm overnight and then went to get help when she heard people nearby.

Local man Tom Taylor (68) alerted the Troopers. He said a friend of his had been riding in the Jake Lake area when the dog ran up to him.

The statement explained, “The dog, named Amber, led them approximately 400 yards to an injured snow machiner laying in the snow.

“The victim, Otis Orth, age 52, of Trapper Creek, had crashed his snow machine and had been laying in the snow since the previous day. Amber had remained with her owner, keeping him warm overnight, until she heard the snow machines go by.”

I used to rollerblade with him. He LOVED getting the leash between his teeth and pulling me down the street. He could go practically forever until I turned him back to keep him from over tiring himself. One day, a huge ass Malamute charged us. It was in the yard but slipped its chain. I crashed off a car and hit the pavement. Blue stood over me like the Wrath of God. He didn't leave me for a second.

My hands were all bloody, but at least I had protective padding on my knees, elbows and wrists. He *towed* me home on my skates. There has never been a finer dog that him. He was ready to take on a dog that outweighed him by at least 40 lbs. for me.

My adult daughter was visiting me from DC for a weekend. She went to bed early one night and I needed something from the desk in the bedroom she was using, so quietly opened the door and started tiptoeing in when I was stopped in my tracks by the sound of a deep-throated growl which made my blood run cold. I froze and said, "Ginger, it's Mom" and the growling stopped and I got a lick on my hand. It was clear to me that this dog would rip the throat out of anyone who physically threatened my dtr. And I felt good about that, because said daughter lived alone in an apt. on Capitol Hill.

After the Irish setter raised the alarm..."

I was curious about this, read another story about it,

Irish setter saves harmed snowmachiner: A Trapper Creek male is alive in partial interjection to his Irish Setter, Amber, pronounced Alaska State Troopers. Troopers pronounced they perceived a news during about 2 p.m. Monday afternoon from dual snowmachiners roving nearby Jake Lake off Petersville Road that while they were roving in a area, a dog approached them from a lake. When a group followed, Amber led them about 400 yards to where her owner, 52-year-old Otis Orth, was fibbing in a snow. Troopers pronounced a group found Orth conscious, respirating and alert, though incompetent to pierce due to his injuries postulated from a snowmachine crash. Local cabin owners kept Orth comfortable for about an hour and a half, until Trapper Creek puncture medical services and a Life Med Helicopter were eventually means to leave him to a sanatorium in Anchorage, pronounced troopers, where he is in fast condition.Troopers pronounced an review suggested that Orth had crashed a prior day, and had been laying there since. Amber remained with him by a night, gripping him warm, until she flagged down a snowmachines a following afternoon. A internal familiarity of Orth’s is caring for Amber while he recovers.
Here.

Sounds like more than just barking at other snowmachiners...went and got them

what a good baby that Amber is.

Now I'm gonna go give my doggy a hug, even though he is very stinky right now and needs a bath.
