Foreign Investment, a Priority for Cuban Development

http://www.cubanews.ain.cu/economy/1040-foreign-investment-a-priority-for-cuban-development

HAVANA, Cuba, March 25 (acn) Cuba considers foreign investment a priority for the development of key economic and social sectors. With this in mind a new Foreign Investment draft law will be submitted to approval by all 612 deputies of the National Parliament March 29.

The bill, the most expected economic measure by entrepreneurs interested in doing or in keeping business with Cuba, will replace the current law which, in force since 1995, is considered by some experts as no longer in tune with current economic needs and future prospects, aimed at reviving the local industry and gain competitiveness at the world market.

The country needs access to financial sources, advanced technology and know-how in order to boost sectors hard hit by the economic crisis of the 1990s. With this in mind the island is looking at a more attractive law that encourages foreign investors to participate in key areas, such as agriculture, industry, tourism, biotechnology and renewable energy, with this latter one demanding some 3 billion dollars to develop.

Now, few days from the parliamentary debate on the bill, many expect that the new legislation considers new aspects like duty-free allowances, new projects for the construction, operation and further transfer of property, holding associations and the expansion of free zones.

So who wrote and published this filthy piece of capitalist slander?

Cuban News Agency has nearly four decades of experience in Cuba and 14 years taking to the world the news about Cuba 24/7, through its Web division ACN.

The AIN / ACN spreads over 50,000 news products annually in different media: texts in Spanish, English, French and Russian; photography, audio and video, which are made by a network consisting of more than 120 experienced journalists, photographers and other professionals based in 16 correspondent's offices all around Cuba and its Central Office.

ACN, in addition to the free information products on its web and its teletext channel, also markets products and services to which there are subscribed more than a hundred customers, which include international news agencies, television channels, newspapers and national and local radio stations.

Someone! Quick, notify Fidel! Raul is off his meds again! Call out the guard and hunt down the coupsters! Someone's got some serious 'splainin to do!

Perhaps the Koch brothers hacked the Cuban News Agency again? I smell CIA and the Miami mob all over this, because the true and faithful protectors of socialism on the Island of People's Paradise would never, EVER allow foreign oligarchs to profit off the hard labor of the proletariat.
