5 bad dems each seeking to knock off the others? The circular firing squad that ended

democratic support for labor, and Keynesian economics?

I give you the doomsday dems of 1988...Micheal Dukakis, Dick Gebhardt, Al Gore, Jesse Jackson, and Paul Simons

These are the convenient 'foolish five' who marched us into the end of the democratic party of FDR and LBJ, and thereby made possible guidance by elites of proven success, whose pragmatism has led us to ever greater greatness.

Gebhardt was the first chair 1985-1986, and Al Gore was among the founders.

One of the things that really made the mostly southern politicians of the DLC unhappy was that in the primaries Al Gore split the south with Jesse Jackson.
