Same-sex marriage ceremonies became possible in England and Wales from 29 March, so Peter McGraith and David Cabreza decided to get married at the stroke of midnight.

And, thank you for the endearing pics made possible by the law being passed.

ahead in others; the Civil Partnership Act of 2004 gave same-sex couples the right to form legally recognised civil partnerships with the same legal status as civil marriage (and with same-sex partners of UK citizens entitled to emigrate under the same rules as married spouses), which the US didn't catch up to until just last year when DOMA was ruled unconstitutional.
