I just saw a few seconds of Fox.
The pundit guy quoted Krauthammer who said that 7 million enrolled is not enough, it should be more, therefore it wasn't worth it.

(111,124 posts)especially since people in red states are not enrolling because Pox and the preachers scared them out of it and since Medicaid wasn't expanded to include the working poor, which is just about everybody in red states.
Word of mouth is going to be out by the enrollment period next year (and just why the fuck is there an enrollment period? It should be year round) and people are going to start to realize, even in Dixie and the Moron Corridor that they've been lied to for years.
Pox would do better to stick to Benghazi.
I just saw the "all or nothing" argument by a poster here on DU.
I switched over to Fox for a few seconds, and surprise, surprise, they were saying the same thing.
It's a standard RW tactic. Most people call it "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" but I think "all or nothing" describes it better. They would rather have nothing than any improvement, even substantial improvement, simply by claiming that it doesn't solve the problem 100%. (of course you can never find any solution that instantly solves any problem 100%).

(21,475 posts)The carrot is the subsidies offered. The stick is the penalty for not enrolling. The penalty is deducted from any tax refunds one might have received so there has to be some sort of cut off date. It renews every year so everyone will have a new opportunity to enroll. The penalty gets larger every year so it will probably be cheaper after a couple of years to just enroll.
