Correct? ACA covers Dental?

I hope this information is correct. I am a strong believer in National Single Payer care.
I find myself wondering why, if ACA covers dental, why is this same service not offered by Medicare?

Those of us on Medicare pay for the plan plus extra for supplements and drugs. Why no option for dental care?
This is not a complaint, just a question. Many of us need dental work but cannot afford the cost. I would gladly pay for this service as an option but there seems to be no way for us old-timers. I can't even afford drug coverage.

OK, so I need two crowns. $2000.00. Don't know where to find the money and cannot afford regular dental insurance. Another case of low income seniors getting the wrong end of the deal? Why is dental care not an option under either situation?

2. ACA is not a health plan

it allows you to choose a health plan.

Some offer dental, some don't. Don't expect an inexpensive premium with dental included.

But choosing dental coverage isn't necessarily that much more expensive.

I narrowed my choice of plans down to two -- they were essentially the same plan (same insurer, same coverages, deductibles, copays, etc), except that one added dental and vision coverage. The difference in cost to me (after subsidies) was about $8 a week. I went with the one that had the dental and vision for $8 a week more.

Some plans do offer it as an option. Also most states' Medicaid programs cover dental services.

Www.dentalplans.com it's pretty good. For lil over $100 per year you can get 50%-70% off all dental procedures, including crowns. I think a crown is about $500.,

And no waiting period.

Good luck!!

steep discounts for services. Depending on the area they can have a long wait list, but it might help. You never know until you try.

I had to buy a separate dental plan.

There is nothing in the law which requires dental coverage for adults.

You should have asked this 2 days ago so we could have gotten you to sign up for a dental plan.

We'll see how it goes. It's about $30/month (the dental plan). There were several to choose from at different price-points.
