With any luck it will be an embarrassment of riches, just like last time.

really doesn't belong in the clown car at all; he was the only one out of all their candidates who took science seriously. The person who made this pic should've had Bachmann or Ron Paul in that seat instead.

Not having Bachmann/Paul in there is an oversight, and Huntsman was relatively rational, especially when he (gasp!) said he believed in evolution, O NOEZ. Might have to do with whoever was coming into SC at the time... Don't remember, but that was what I grabbed quickly in the limited time I spent on google images looking. There is no shortage of "GOP 2012 = Clown Car" stuff out there, though, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, sure, he got his father to pull strings to get him into the National Guard so he could duck out on the Vietnam draft...but at least he showed up for duty! The guy who did the same thing, and then just disappeared into a drunken stupor someplace was actually elected President. And he's a hero by comparison to the chorus of chickehawks who supported him and his wars, but spent the Vietnam war hiding under their bunks in a college dormitory.

April fool's jokes aside, Quayle would have every reason to think he'd stand a good chance of winning. After all, the big scandal for Quayle was that he got his father to pull strings to get him into the National Guard so that he could duck out on the Vietnam draft. But now that we've lowered the bar on that, and had 8 years of a President who not only got his father to pull strings to get him into the National Guard; but then DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO SHOW UP FOR DUTY, Quayle looks like a model of virtue. At least he showed up once a week to peel potatoes (sic) for the mess. He wasn't passed out drunk underneath a pool table someplace.

The only rich frat boys who enter (or re-enter) politics are the ones that have some serious self-esteem issues, and have something to prove to themselves.
