The United States Republic has to fall to rise again from the ashes like a phoenix

Voter apathy is going to increase as time goes on based on how archaic/restrictive the American political system is and how interwoven money interests are in the American political fabric. Look no further than how elections are conducted in Canada or in European nations to see that elections are treated like a holiday that all citizens deserve to cherish. Where employers are forgiving and allow workers to go vote and how those that lack transportation or poor/disadvantaged are not left behind in the voting process. The U.S. system is so bad in terms of political process but most importantly voting process, that it is beyond repair. We know it is a train wreck and all we can do is watch for the eventually collision. Us young kids we have to pick up the pieces and put together a new Republic. It was one hell of a run for the United States' first republic and not many nations on this earth can make that claim. But until then we have to let it play out as we descend into the dark void below. Eventually we will re-emerge brighter than ever as a beacon but it will take time. Lots of time.

the inevitable but we can not avoid the end fate.

Voting helps slow down the decay but too much has happened to change the balance enough. Our Republic is too old and it has been on a long run but needs a massive re-vamp. The French are on their fifth republic no? Our time as a nation is coming to an end.

I am not angry or sad about it as that is the nature of the universe. A start is going to eventually have an end.

to entertain the thought of a revolution turning right, despite what we can see in this country with our own two eyes. No thanks,I'll stick with my vote and the constitution.

We might not wind up with the result we desire and one just has to look at other countries to see how even pro-democracy revolutions don't always end up with the best people in charge after it is all over.

The large Empire won't be able to sustain.

Some of the smaller states that rise on the North American continent after that will doubtless be dark and frightening places.

But some of them will be probably be much much better than what we have now.

Green energy policy puts many countries ahead of the United States and in better position to deal with global climate change which should be re-named to global anthropogenic climate change. I expect the United States to fracture based on the degree of green energy policies are put in place and the level of shoreline erosion on coast lines into smaller city states.

and also can not stop.

We can mitigate global climate change by going with green policies. But global climate change will still happen because it is a cycle that has happened many times but we as humans are accelerating.

GOTV will help a bit but in the long run we need top to bottom re-vamp of the U.S. political landscape.

letting what we have fall is that no one can guarantee that we can get the rich and their corporations out and rebuild.

I think it is important to fight the fight for as long as it takes. Some of the countries that went through disaster capitalism threw off their oppressors and did rebuild but they did not stop fighting.

just waiting for the weak to perish. This is true and I don't deny it however there is a chance of good to come out of this as well. Yes it can go either way but it is also a path we are on that is clear. It is not a question if, but when? 30, 40 orr 60 years from now?

is that the people with the most money and the most weapons would take charge. And that's not traditionally people on the left.

Nevermind the eradication of what little protections for the weak, poor, and minorities still exist.

Amendments or a convention are our best hope, honestly.

the problems with the lack of green energy policies and rising sea levels. Majority of U.S. populations are clustered on the coastlines and the interior of the U.S. is primarily used for farms. Reality is we are not set up well for the future in any facet and the political stagnation we are at will hasten this.
