Today's SCOTUS decision PROVES filibuster reform is a BAD idea

Once again, we can see that the Liberals are WRONG about wanting filibuster reform.

Ok, so today's Supreme Court ruling was disappointing. We lost.

But, just think of the lesson it teaches us sensible Democrats. In the future, there might be a Republican President, and Republican majorities in Congress. Now suppose that a Republican President nominated a crazy ideologue to the Supreme Court. A real nut with a history of voting for corporate interests at every turn.

We Democrats would filibuster the bastard! Yes. We. Would!

So, even though the filibuster in its current form inconveniently prevents us from doing anything to stop the massive flow of cash from the lumpenproletariat to our deserving Job Creators, we desperately need to keep it so we can avoid SCOTUS rulings like we had today.

So chill, Liberals. I suggest that you follow my lead tonight and drown your misery in a few bottles of full-bodied Sauternes with truffle/duck pate and fois gras with cherry sauce. And make sure to do your part in GOTV by urging the household help to VOTE DEMOCRATIC!

Regards,

Third-Way Manny

2. The '60 yes votes' needed to confirm a SC Justice has not changed and will not

And there's no way the GOP is going to get 60 U.S. Senate seats.

7. It STILL takes '60 yes votes' for CLOTURE before the final vote on SC nominations

All the dems would have to do (all of them) is vote NO on cloture and there would be no final vote.

Period.

3. One of the biggest dangers we are facing now is these asshole Repugs in the SC

Thanks to 2 terms of Bush.

I'm not even going to F fully go into whose fault that is, as we KNOW what I'm going to say, and I'll attempt to refrain. However, it's done. People followed Nader, the whiners sat on their huge asses, did nothing but waste their votes, and get others to waste theirs, and just whined and whined. The Repukes got elected, proceeded to commit crimes (political and otherwise), and the preachers of America urged their congregations to vote GOP, then swore up on their faux Bibles that they really really were not political entities, but churches.

All I have to say is that if the libs don't band together and vote Dem all the way, to vote the assholes out of office. there will be even more right wing assholes in the SC. I am ALREADY beyond disappointed with SOME Americans and see them as complete losers for wasting votes on unelectable candidates. In the face of such evil as the Republicans, to not band together and get the Repuke scourge OUT of public office, IS a crime. So I hope everyone does band together instead of being a bunch of f'ng whining sissies who will (ONCE AGAIN) help Repukes by voting for unelectables.
