Today searchers found Boomer, a dog who's been buried for twelve days. His owners died in the slide. I can't imagine what people must be thinking re possibilities, but bless his heart.

On edit: the original said his owners were lost, but now they aren't sure. We'll see. Be nice if they were okay.

(8,020 posts).. that hypothermia didn't kill the dog.
That mud is colder than hell. Night temps in the low 40's, and that wet mud would suck warmth out of anything/body.
Maybe he found a dry pocket.
Dare we hope that happened to a human?
Still, hypothermia is a killer in situations like that.

(28,120 posts)Boomer was not buried in the slide but was in the debris field - looking for his previous owner, I think. This sweet looking dog lived a few miles away with his previous owner's sister.

The almost psychic connection pets have to people they love, even previous owners, is eerie but awesome.
