I was out looking for Springtime blooms. I should have been looking up instead of down and walked head first into my new, very heavy metal bird feeder. Results? A 'pigeon egg' sized lump over my right eye.
On the bright side, I actually sat and watched a Crocus go from bud to full bloom. I don't THINK it was a head injury induced hallucination. I really am pretty sure I watched it bloom.

I remember reports from back in the day of moster potholes like these:

(26,255 posts)It was by the curb in a parking area and full of thick slush so it didn't appear to even be a pot hole until someone pulled into it. Our local news sent a crew to film people getting pulled out. That finally shamed the road commission into blocking off the spot until they could do some repair work. But still, some roads are so riddled with pot holes, they are almost impossible to drive down.

(111,222 posts)and I expect our summer to be as miserable as your winter was.
I'm glad the crocuses were brave enough to bloom in your part of the country, though. Back in New England it was the sign I could start going around in a heavy sweater without the coat on top.

(26,255 posts)Me? I was still wearing my winter jacket. It has to be above 60 for me to cut back to sweaters, and 70's before I go without.

(111,222 posts)going up to 20 feels like springtime. I remember that part, too.
My own line for discarding the coat for the relative freedom of a heavy sweater was 48 degrees.
