For years, I have been baffled when I hear things on the news like "the government is negotiating with xxx company" regarding fines or regulations or legislation. WTF. They have never negotiated with me, or I bet with you either, before passing laws.....even when 80% of the population or more is against it.

We are a really fucked up country these days.

5. Based on what Bernie said, why vote?

If our elected officials are just going to vote based on who bought and sold them, why should we vote for them?

11. Yes, but it's not about what we should stop doing, it's about what we should start.

I mean, one can vote if they think it does them any good, but even with the ACA we just signed up 7 million people - which is roughly the same number of people who had their homes foreclosed on from 2006 to now, with the vast majority since 2009. And the response was to make sure the thieving banks who donated to the campaign stayed wealthy. And they have, reporting record profits. (Most people with limited education and thus income don't vote. But those 7 million people were homeowners, and they overwhelmingly vote. They got their homes foreclosed on after the government told them that there was scant possibility of the housing crash that we saw. What will former voters do? Interesting question.)

On the other hand, the housing market is shit, propped up by $1.2 billion being paid to banks to hide their mistakes, and the majority of house sales are going to all cash buyers, investors, not the homeowners. They are as broke as they were back then.

Our jobs, with all the good work, just this month surpassed the number to put us back where we were at the beginning of the recession, but with 14 million more people. None of who, by definition, have jobs.

People should be creating cooperatives to buy assets, because the only vote in this brave new world we have created is the one you buy with the dollar, and those that have the most assets not only have most of them, but they have a government willing to make sure they not only get more than others, but that it is going to continue for the foreseeable future.

What kind of idiot votes to be treated like that? If the Rethugs win, perhaps their policies will drive it into the ground.

Which beats living in the servitude we are in, no matter how bad it gets.

I would like to hear someone defend this horrible state of affairs.
