DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) - It's a story that's becoming too common in Detroit, a mob attacks a man at a west side gas station. This time, the victim, Eric Miles, 38, did not survive.

Family members tell us Miles was beaten up and crushed from the waist down after he was attacked and run over by a car outside a Valero gas station. His loved ones are looking for answers. Miles leaves behind two children and a number of heartbroken relatives. Police have spent hours going through surveillance video. So far, no arrests. WESTLAND, Mich. - The Westland Police Department says three people involved in Thursday's assault and battery against an Army veteran have been arrested.

Adam Wagner, 25, told Local 4 on Friday he had gone to the 7-Eleven on S. Venoy Road in Westland to buy cigarettes, but noticed three men giving the female clerk a hard time. He said he intervened and then walked out, but the three men followed.

Wagner said the men shouted racial and homophobic slurs, referencing the U.S. Army and military insignias on his vehicle, before they began punching and kicking him.
