Is it worth it to get P.O. about a radio ad that compares liberals to vermin? or is it a case of

"In order to be insulted by you, I would first have to value your opinion?"

I heard such an ad on a local radio station this morning.

It's the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. The radio airwaves played a role in stoking the actions of weak minded people. We have a lot of weak minded people in America these days -

When we dehumanize or are dehumanized - horrible things happen.

I'd be mad if I were you - one persons opinion is another persons truth.

it's right out of the Nazi playbook. It didn't just work on the "weak-minded" either. I think we've all run in to people who spit the word "liberal" like it was some sort of epithet. We know the hate radio hosts make their living spewing this trash. So now its ok for a radio ad.This is downright frightening.

The sponsor wouldn't be allowed to air old Nazi propaganda equating Jews with vermin...or these days, who knows? Maybe they would.

Description of The Eternal Jew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eternal_Jew_(1940_film) ):

"The film utilizes a montage that juxtaposes these images of ghetto Jews with images of rats to draw an analogy between the migration of Jews from Eastern Europe with the migration of rats. For example, one of the shots shows a pack of rats emerging from a sewer, followed by a shot of a crowd of Jews in a bustling street of the Lodz ghetto. Close-ups of those in the crowd reveal sickly, malformed facial features. The narrator states that, as rats are the vermin of the animal kingdom, Jews are the vermin of the human race and similarly spread disease and corruption. Unlike rats, however, the narrator continues, Jews have the uncanny ability to change their appearance and blend into their "human hosts." A scene depicts four bearded men in traditional religious Jewish clothing, then shows them shaved and in modern business suits, while the narrator explains that only a "trained eye" can distinguish their Jewish features."

In addition to getting angry, I'd be boycotting all of the companies that advertise on that radio station.

Ever look at the rhetoric that is frequently used to describe Conservatives on DU?

Personally, I don't approve of that regardless of whom is being targeted.
