from a member of the KS legislater so sorry for the destruction of teachers. Thank you Harry Mullin
After the vote tonight, I just couldnt leave. So I walked down those steps to the entrance to the House chamber. What I saw there cant be explained in words. At 10:30pm on a Sunday evening, just a few hours before they would return to their classrooms, I saw them all standing with their red shirts and their arms raised in solidarity. After spending most of their weekend in Topeka advocating for our children, these teachers now stood quietly with tears in their eyes
.. Waiting for an opportunity. Waiting for an opportunity to ask WHY? Why did these legislators that we (Kansans) elected, turn their backs and trample on the ones who teach our children? As I stood there I noticed one more thing. None of those legislators, who turned their backs on our finest teachers, had the guts to walk through those doors and face them.
Tonight Im so very ashamed to call myself a Kansan.
