This is the moment a barmaid narrowly escaped when an e-cigarette exploded in flames in a packed pub and rocketed towards her.
Shocked Laura Baty, 18, was serving a customer when she heard a huge bang and saw the device shoot in her direction.
The flames singed her arms and set her dress on fire as she tried to get out of the way.
The sizzling e-cig - which had been on charge behind the bar - then landed on the floor and scorched the vinyl tiles before burning itself out.

Rechargeable batteries of all kinds and in all types of devices can explode and cause burns or other injuries.
It's a statistical risk inherent to the use of them.

If you think about it, we could solve a few problems by banning these re-chargeable batteries. Then no one would have to worry about people vaping e cigs in public, nor would selfish, inconsiderate individuals be on their cell phones or texting while driving.
Think I should take up the cause?

He said: "I put the e-cigarette on charge in my iPad charger, which I have done countless times before.
Perhaps the correct charger for the ecig battery would have been a better idea?

out of millions of e-cigarettes used. That's less failure rate than a car or computer.
Plus, what idiot charges their e-cig from their Iphone?
