make it even 25 bucks, and we'll be set for the next few decades.

which is a bit different from a legal minimum wage (also, that $20 is at the market exchange rate - the purchasing power parity rate for the Danish Krone is 7.64 to the dollar, which would make DKK110 $14.40).

The highest legal minimum wage there, using a purchasing power parity rate (which is appropriate for when we're talking about what you need to live on), is Luxembourg's at $11.10, with France close behind at $10.71.

The expression of it as the percentage of GDP per capita is an interesting concept - for Luxembourg it's 25.3% (they're pretty rich - lots of banks), France 54%, and USA 30.2%. You have to wonder how Argentina manages at 120.7% - not everyone is employed, but still ...

Maybe worker co-ops might be a way to make this happen. Consider The Alvarado Street bakery depicted in Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story at 01:00:28 (Take a look):

In the rural county I'm from $21 an hour would make for a comfortable living. I currently make $24 an hour in a larger city and it's paycheck to paycheck most of the time.

It should be based on locality tables like federal employee pay is.

It's time to talk about a living wage based on the local costs. Also job sharing at full pay until everybody that wants a job has one.
