Senate Democrats holding off on responces to Kochs' anti-Obamacare millionsby Joan McCarter at the Daily Kos

"SNIP...................
While the Koch brothers are pissing away millions in very early attack ads against Senate Democrats, those Democrats are mostly holding their fire.
But many of the most endangered Democratic incumbents have decided its better to wait out the barrage than to respond in-kind.
Theyre gambling that it makes far more sense to build a sizable war chest and hold off until closer to the election to engage their opponents in an expensive TV war. The idea: Absorb the ads from the conservative group Americans for Prosperity now and hope some help from their Democratic allies, like the Senate Majority PAC, helps to keep their races competitive. Then, when the time comes, unleash a flurry of attacks that will give them a late bounce and potentially victory come November.
The Democrats strategy carries obvious downsides. With the conservative Americans for Prosperity dumping a staggering amount of cash into Senate races early in the cycle, Democrats risk being defined as apologists for President Barack Obama and his health care law before theyve defined themselves to undecided voters.

(262 posts)We have truth on our side.
The revolution will not be televised.
Then we will arrest Koch Brothers for sedition and throw them in prison, and then seize and repatriate their assets to an collective.

(21,106 posts)My mother in law told me she is disgusted by the attack ads in Arizona and her friends some of who are republicans don't like them either.
I can see the Democratic party come out swinging in the fall when people start paying attention and contrasting their message against negative Koch attack ads. Democrats need to talk about populist issues and point out they want to save social security, Medicare, education, rebuilding infrastructure and other programs because they are working for the middle class and poor. The rethugs and Koch's have nothing to offer but empty words, liberty freedom, personal responsibility blah blah blah nothing concrete just talking points. A real smart commercial for the Dem's would be to point out how the rethugs want to lower taxes so their masters the Koch's can have more money to pay for their annoying awful ads. Another thing the democratic party should run on is limit money and election periods, congress should do the work they were elected to do instead of constantly hunting for cash for their next re election and passing legislation to take away programs that help working class instead of lowering taxes on the rich.
Who does rethug candidate really represent? Not you but the Koch/ rich donor class who want to pollute your air, drinking water and tv airwaves.

(42,294 posts)A rerun of the anti-Sink ads. I am sick of them already and I rarely watch television.
