http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/embarrassment-for-marine-le-pen-as-national-front-councillor-eric-assad-is-revealed-as-killer-9255121.html

Since our far-right pârty took some towns city councils since last local election, there is a new affair uncovered everyday. Not to mention than not long as two days ago, Frejus Mayor FN's Mr Rashdine was charged with his driver for having joked about hitler and made a " zieg heil" in his car....

This guy is a killer....Named ASSAD

A member of one city's city council wears as a family name....FUHRHER!!!!!

No its not a joke.... Its just the very sad way we're going through in our ,politics....

And before yesturday, Mrs Le Pen was again hosted like a guest-star in the France 2's talk shaw " Des Paroles et des actes" , a prime time program.

No wonder why nobody no more believes our politician when they say " we must not give credits to those extremists....

I hope so. There is a sickness in Europe. My husband is an Italian citizen - he is very in tune with what is going on - he has even popped on here once or twice.

He just let out a whoop when I tod him this. He lived in Paris in the 1990's in Montmarte while he was building his body of work as an artist. This is not the France he knew. B

the same one that once put America in Bush's arms in 2004? or for some of your citizens, into Tea Party's. And the flyer affair remind me of the kind of same methods Nixon White House uses agains then-young John Kerry in his failled 1972 Congressional race. Btw, Nixon is woldwide know for having been homophobic, racist, antisemitic and so....

Let me translate to the best of my ability without translation on the web - you keep me in French mode since I have started learning Italian. Feel free to correct me!

Ce me rend foud. (spelling? Verb?)

The local newspaper La Montagne revealed that he shot dead a student and wounded two other people in a random series of attacks in Belle-Île, an island off the south coast of Brittany, in December 1979.

Mr Assad was accused of murder and attempted murder but was never tried because a court decided in 1980 that he was in a “state of dementia” at the time of the attacks. Medical reports said he was “not responsible for his actions” because he was enraged by a failed love affair.

He spent seven years in mental institutions, at one time escaping for a year.

The NF said that Mr Assad had never revealed his past to the party and had no formal criminal record. “If we had known, we would have suggested that he remain in the shadows,” said the party’s former deputy leader, Bruno Gollnisch.

So if he had "stayed in the shadows" it would have been okay?

Please France stop their insanity of the Front now.

Before you inspire the Northern League in Italy more.

Under French law, Mr Assad’s criminal record was wiped clean on his release from psychiatric care in 1987. He therefore had a perfect legal right to stand for election.
