it should be demanded that that they show how much employees cost them and what a raise in wages would translate into.
As we have seen recently, and increase t Wallmart would raise cost to consumers a little over 1% and mean workers would no longer need food stamps (saving us taxpayers in the bargain.)
At Papa John's I think it was 1.5%. We are talking pennies to the consumer, less than what happens when gas prices skyrocket or ingredients get more expensive.
The media reporting what these "business leaders" say without the real numbers is just propaganda for the elite and their Republican sycophants.

Since they focus on only the fiscal quarters one at a time, they just have very short memories.

(1,850 posts)that workers would no lonnger need food stamps. If someone is working 20 hours/week, and has 10 kids that person would probably stil need food stamps. Too many variables to think one solution would solve the problems of the poor.

(33,573 posts)I was referring to the recent video about a box of Mac and Cheese from Wallmart showing a fulltime (or near fulltime) worker getting $10.10, the box would go from 68 cents to 69 cents and that worker would not need foodstamps.
Nothing wrong with foodstamps, something wrong with workers from the biggest retalor in the world needing them.
