At Least the Friggin Phone Rang !!!

So, I get this great new offer to upgrade my internet service and home phone line and pay the same monthly bill and I was dumb enough to take the bait. So they come on Thursday and spend about 4 hours tearing up the phone lines around the house and finally I have a dial tone and web pages that load slighly faster. So I'm reasonably happy, until I realize on Friday that we haven't received any calls on the phone since they left. No problem dialing out ...just can't get any calls coming in. They are on their way back tomorrow(the earliest they could come)....to further fuck us up, no doubt.

Hey, "Generation Better than You" ! ...you thirty somethings....always reminding me that I'm just old and part of the past !
Well here's a little nugget from a child of the 1960's...we didn't have all of this magical technology you all grew up with - but when someone called the house - At Least the Fucking Phone Rang !!!

You insult an entire generation and some pretty cool technology cuz a few people may have screwed up. Hate to see what happens to your blood pressure when you get your burger with mayo instead of mustard.

Showed my son (34, IT worker) this and his response, "Way to piss off the generation that will be taking care of him when he no longer can."

2. Hey WOW

I've been coding in IT for 30 years....mainframe...tell your son(as I do mine)...that server crap just doesn't work.
And I don't need a generation to "take care of me". I have family for that.

Our mistake was thinking the one reliable thing we could hold on to was a land line...but they found a way to screw that up too.
Time to just live by the cell....die by the cell.

6. Perspective is everything...I retired to get away from incoming phone calls.

I like it when people cannot call into my land line.
I need it for calling out, but otherwise, family know I am not happy with a ringing phone.
So they email to say they will be calling, the perfect solution.
9/10 of incoming is robo-calls,anyhow.

7. I'm convinced they do the screwing up thing

just to get you to buy new services, better equipment. etc. Noticed that they offer businesses lower prices.
