Okay, now I get the feeling

that Putin just used the Olympics as a distraction while starting the unrest in Ukraine. Anyone else get that feeling? That would be too bad.

(or at least wanted closer ties to Europe not Russia) so that doesn't make sense.

My impression is that Putin was caught out and is now trying to catch up. His current manipulations are a little too obvious to have been well thought out in advance.
