Reflexive opposition to US foreign policy is Morally Bankrupt, but quite Easy

US foreign policy is, like most things, good when it is good and bad when it is bad.

Duh.

Some is good. Some is bad. That the US is capable of evil in international affairs can be stipulated. That the US is, however, incapable of every being on the right side of anything... that's a whole 'nother thing.

It is not a straw man to say that some reflexively oppose any and every American international position. It's all bad. It is all wrong. It sounds like it should be a straw man... that nobody is THAT stupid, or that morally bankrupt.

But somehow we never run out of defenders of the reformation of the Russian empire. Defenders of Asad in Syria. Defenders of Islamic theocrats who would stone women for wearing lipstick. Defenders of anything and everything that America might ever object to.

Because America sucks.

What a deep fucking view that is. How wise. How admirable.
