Man arrested for running over 2 women, and punching a jogger, while taking daughter to school

A Florida man is facing attempted murder charges for allegedly hitting two women with his car and punching a jogger while driving his 7-year-old daughter to school.

A jogger tapped the car of Eric Noel Montez, 28, for driving dangerously close to him on Thursday morning, police say.

Montez allegedly stopped his vehicle and ran after the jogger. He allegedly punched the man numerous times in the face, according to NBC-2.com.

The suspect was pummeling the victim when Lorraine McDaniel, 52, and Kristee Barres, 33, told him to stop and that they were calling police.

There was a verbal exchange before Montez got back into his car and pulled forward, allegedly hitting Barres and vaulting her over the hood.

Both women are still in the hospital, one in critical condition.

During his arraignment, Montez yelled out at the judge that the two women were threatening him, he was then told by his attorney to stay quiet.

a guy whose had blunt force brain damage. The kind of people that make up more than 50% of prison inmates. No control, all anger without restraint, yelling at the judge... typical.

You got to think this wasn't the first time he lashed out in a rage.

Unfortunately his 7-year old daughter had to witness all this.

And there are many on the roads without a license as well. You don't even need a license to buy a car, you can get one on craig's list or from just about anyone without them knowing a thing about you.

10+ million accidents a year costing billions of dollars in damages, people are maimed, paralyzed, etc.

People like this guy shouldn't be allowed to own a car (even if they take his license he can still buy as many cars as he likes).

As for his license, he probably got his first driver's license when he was 16. I wonder how, exactly, you think the state was supposed to divine that he was going to do this twelve years later.

Same way others propose the state do the same thing with guns....

Lots of people get guns as teens either buying them or having someone give one as a gift. Testing someone buying a gun today says nothing about all the other ones they got before and still own.

Drivers cause millions of accidents a year, people still drive drunk, without a license etc.

I don't think the answer to those problems are more laws though (since laws have been made that already make such things either illegal or civil matters). We cannot control everything all of the time. We never will be able to.

If the solution to our problem with one is just make more laws and such than I would suppose that logic will work with lots of other things (like cars, knives and power tools that cause lots of injuries in the home, etc). If the theory is sound and is supposed to work than applying it to achieve similar results with other things should also work.

But, as noted, it will only work up until a point (the limit) and at that point you need to look at solutions that are not ones driven by law and punishment but education and changing minds, making people more aware, etc.

Accident lawyers have lots of huge billboards along the roads. Nobody seems to know why.

Remember: When the light turns green, wait for people to finish running the red light before you proceed into the intersection.
