I wrote about this several days ago and went poking around some teahadists sites and saw this rhetoric but RW watch is reporting in more detail. It will be interesting to see how the Homeland Security responds.
These people are wanting a Ruby Ridge or Waco type confrontation and it is not going to work out well. They came armed this time.
Some news from RW Watch
Operation American Spring, the far-right, militia-aligned group thats planning a pro-coup rally next month to force President Obama out of office by shutting down Washington D.C., got a shout-out this week from Tea Party Nation.
TPN head Judson Phillips emailed members a column Declaring War on Americans by Alan Caruba, in which he applauds the militias defending the Cliven Bundy ranch and plugs Operation American Spring, while hinting that the demonstration may provoke a violent response from the government
The Occupy Movement was peaceful but these hayseeds get to make threats against our lawfully elected President and We the People
...
Going forward, the most compelling remedial grassroots action we should all get solidly behind is, of course, "Operation American Spring" which will be launched in earnest on May 16th. I urge readers to check it out on the Patriots for America site. You have the option of participating in the protracted occupation or volunteering your services and talents in support of the operation.
Finally and very importantly, if all of these peaceful remedies fail to achieve our constitutional goals, then ALL other remedies sanctioned by our Founders and "natural law" must necessarily be relied upon by the American people. Let the Founders ALWAYS be our guide.

Tea Party Nation Now Promoting Operation American Spring
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/tea-party-nation-now-promoting-operation-american-spring
From a January article at Mother Jones:
"1.8 Million Definite Militia Members" to March on DC, Install New Government
Operation American Spring promises to bring the Egyptian revolution to Washington.
Harry Riley has a dream. On the morning of May 16, somewhere between 10 and 30 million (estimates vary) God-fearing patriots will assemble in Washington, DC, for what Riley, a retired Army colonel from the Florida panhandle, is calling "Operation American Spring." Theyll protest outside the White House by day and set up in campgrounds and RV parks outside the city by night. They won't leave until President Barack Obama, along with Attorney General Eric Holder and congressional leaders of both parties, resign and appear before a specially convened investigative tribunal for further disciplinary actiona polite version of a tea party coup. It's not likely to happenbut two former Fox News personalities have endorsed the endeavor.
"We have 1.8 million definite militia members coming," promises Operation American Spring spokeswoman Karen Smith. (The Anti-Defamation League pegs the number of American militia members at about 20,000.) "Other than that, we're not keeping a list of concerned people or whatever because how are we gonna do that?"
...
Riley's backers are an eclectic bunch. Erik Rush, a conservative columnist and occasional Fox News analyst who starred in Sean Hannity's 2012 special The Real Barack Obama, has promoted the event on his website and his radio show. Jim Garrow, a conspiracy theorist who predicted that Obama would attempt to distract from the group's message by revealing the existence of extraterrestrial life, is also on board. Retired Gen. Paul Vallely, who was Fox News' senior military analyst during the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistana period in which he closely coordinated with Pentagon officialsgave the event a thumb's up in a radio interview.

(3,539 posts)Sure they are willing to try and are all revved up by virtue of their Bundy "victory". Yes it could get ugly but............
What if they somehow were successful?
Forgive me for chopping parts of the article up, just let's look at a few things.
Transfer of power, to who? By what means? I don't remember getting invited to an election. Were you?
Why West, Cruz, Lee, DeMint, Paul, Walker, Sessions, Gowdy, Jordan, and Issa? I do not trust them. Do you?
Will these be investigations or inquisitions? Am I guilty of something? Are you?
Who appoints this new "president"? I didn't vote for them. Did you?
I don't like even thinking things like this however it may be time to stop laughing at these Teapublican fools and start to consider them a serious threat.

(3,539 posts)Heck, I ain't even talked this over with Uncle Jack.
Heres the problem.
Eventually, sooner or later, something like this is dammed to end in tears.
These 'brave' folk, the type of coward that would put women in front, are basically bullies.
They will keep pushing this type of nonsense until they get what they want or what they would settle for.
They would settle for another Waco. Martyrdom. As long as it's someone else, like the woman who's skirt they are hiding behind, does the actual martyring.
The Bunkersville insanity would have been a lot worse if the BLM had not decided to solve this in an other manner.
To their way of thinking, "they got the lunch money" and theres more of it out there.
Sooner or later one of these clowns will fire off his extended manhood (not all gun owners are that way) and if wifey gets shot; well now they "gots them a cause".
Like all bully cowards, they'll be back,
Will it be on my town commons? Or your's?
Not saying its time to break out the armament.
It is time to start taking these law breakers seriously and work to do something other than just laugh at them.
Although if this were a sitcom I'd be laughing my ass off at these buffoons,
jaysunb
(11,856 posts)at their antics and tactics. The false bravado ends as soon as the men in black show up and the wet panties are instantly turned to victims. Most of the Country is on to them and won't have the same empathy that was originally displayed in previous attempts to subvert the laws of the land. And you're right, they are begging for martyrdom. Ruby Ridge and Waco burns hot in their ideology. May they be granted their wish.

(12,482 posts)Not to actually overthrow the government but to get people killed. I took it all as a big joke until they forcibly backed down federal agents in Nevada. They have been emboldened by that. They are much more likely to try some shit now. I pray that the feds are drawing up charges on all those terrorists in Nevada right now.

Dealing with delusional, irrational people like this is very dangerous.
Right now the only humorous thing I can think of is if Obama actually DOES call a press conference and make some type of announcement about aliens. See what happens...

I know it's a two class system but these guys have no class and should not be counted.
I for one will be waiting to see what happens. Now since they let Ruby Ranch Bundy back em down, I'm afraid blood will spill. ANd I think that once it does, these guys are gonna be laying in it.

(10,274 posts)The bush administration could not have massacred antiwar demonstrators in the march to Iraq.
They would have lost their moral high ground.
The antiwar marches were peaceful and a spectacle. That allowed the government to marginalized the sentiment with the meme that the "adults are in charge" and the protestors are just hippie peaceniks. The antiwar movement should sit back while they take care of "adult business" and sit back we did.
The murderous military were portrayed as heros protecting America. That narrative hasn't changed or been challenged.

(5,420 posts)and all attacks on us would not have had to have been so obvious as a bloody takedown.

(10,274 posts)An armed mob is much more compelling than one armed with slogans.
The bush admin could never have massacred a large armed protest. Remember the narrative was that they were protecting the American people from terror. Hard to keep that meme going when your shooting the same people.
I marched with a million people in SF in the end we accomplished nothing.
What has more power "over my dead body" or "not in my name"?

(23,664 posts)Most of these clowns will give up without any resistance if the government takes steps to shut down their circle jerk. They're not desperate and oppressed citizens of some middle eastern dictatorship, they're soft and sissified Americans who know nothing about how a real dictatorship acts. They'll have to schedule their revolution so it doesn't conflict with NASCAR.
Their leaders of course will be far removed from the line of fire.

Playing Neville Chamberlain with these terrorists is goign to lead to a major amount of bloodshed. These bastards are now emboldened. They wanted blood then and they want blood now and they are going to have it.
So there you are, every last one of you who put me down for my opinon about how badly the BLM fucked up by being weak and ineffectual and backing down in the face of armed terrorists. These bastards are now going to engage in an armed coup because of that fuckup.
Blanks
(4,835 posts)And we won't hear from them again. Sure, go ahead, count me among those that disagreed with you (and called you bloogthirsty) if your position was to let the BLM engage.

(7,321 posts)I forgot citizen journalists and Left journalists too.. but right wing Teahadists.....umm, no so much.
Btw, I wasn't one of those mentioned in your post. Apparently I missed that discussion, and no I'm not interested in debating the matter. I have not yet formed an opinion on that decision, I'm thinking it was the correct decision. At worse a situation might possibly arise that would be best handled by the National Guard (only if necessary) as opposed to the BLM. But I keep thinking about how the National Guard was called in to "handle" us unarmed anti-war protestors in Chicago and then in Ohio during Viet Nam.
In this case there might be other actions such as financial measures that might be more effective, possibly.

(55,981 posts)protestors. Bullying them would have proven their point that the govement is a big bully. Now emboldened? These are cowards, full of bluster, they have guns and maybe some are stupid enough to use them but I really doubt it. In New Orleans after Katrina the National Guard went door to door and spanked the gun owners and took their guns. The only case that I know of where they resisted was one little old lady and they ended up dragging her from her home by her feet.
The Oligarchs that run this country, that fund these idiot groups will not want them making fools of themselves. They depend on these idiots to be used to scare some people. Are you scared?
All we have to do to shut this group up is tell them we will end their disability checks or their SS checks.

(2,672 posts)The reporting on Fox News is totally out of control. Fox does not stop to think about how all their anti-government rhetoric effects some unbalanced people. All Fox cares about is getting more viewers and selling more ads. Look at Hannity, he was slipping big time, had been moved out of his prime spot. Then he started supporting Bundy, the Nevada rancher and even had Bundy on his show. All the while, whipping these crazy right wingers into a gun toting tizzy. Innocent Americans will pay the price for this.

(48,788 posts)They dream ...
Phase 1 Field millions, as many as ten million, patriots who will assemble in a non-violent, physically unarmed (Spiritually/Constitutionally armed), display of unswerving loyalty to the US Constitution and against the incumbent government leadership, in Washington, D.C., with the mission to bring down the existing leadership. Go full-bore, no looking back, steadfast in the mission.
Phase 2 One million or more of the assembled 10 million must be prepared to stay in D.C. as long as it takes to see Obama, Biden, Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, and Attorney General Holder removed from office.
... but they are clearly prepared to instigate violence since the named Republicans and Democrats are not going to leave office.

(30,058 posts)Direction. There might be enough crazy to go for this planned action and to have them armed would be very dangerous. I would like to know the age average for some of these groups but think a large portion would be the older angry bunch. If they were true Patriots they would squash any type of movement of this nature. They are probably angry they have lost 5 out of the last six presidential elections though Bush was in for two terms he still lost the election in numbers in 2000.
