What kind of imbecile

believes if you agree with someone about anything, you must agree about everything? I agree with a lot of Elizabeth Warren's views. I disagree about Hillary. Whole lot of dumb posts over something anyone with an IQ over 40 understands perfectly.

Sadly all too commonly used despite it's status as a fallacy.

Even single-celled organisms do this. Indeed, it's one of the only thoughts they can have.

Not to expect to agree with anybody about everything. That just isn't going to happen. No two people on this planet are going to agree about everything.

I'm apparently about to donate to the man because it pisses me off that we have a surveillance state. I felt Libertarian when I went to the bathroom this morning while reading 1984.

I had the urge to load up a rifle, ride on the range and get to business! Then the cat meowed, and I realized it was time to feed her, I'm neither Walter Mitty nor the guy in 1984, and we both had breakfast.

Aren't cats the best?

Mine decided to fall asleep on my lap, now im stuck in this position if I don't want to risk getting clawed. She tends to claw when I startle her.

I adore her.

Not making an excuse, since everyone should have enough sense to agree to disagree in a civil manner. Its just that some are extremely passionate and that gets in the way of civility.

Stop it. You're wrecking the illusion. Just stop it.

Get back in character. We are trying to have the illusion of robust, meaningful political discussion here.

You have to pretend that the Third Way talking points make sense, just like you have to pretend that there's no propaganda machine here, that we still live in a representative government, that corporate Democrats are still working for us, and that War is Peace.

Respect your opponent's argument, even when it is flatly absurd. That's what makes it FEEL like a functioning political system.
