The children are our future. With the Madison's of the world we will never be denied. We need the next generation and damn Madison you may help lead the way once again. Some of us are getting old and tired, we need you and others to continue the fight that we should have won so long ago. You inspire me Madison.
Our future and our right!

She is our future. Women like her will get back all that we have lost. Out of the mouths of babes. We are truly blessed.
Maybe she can get the ERA passed before another hundred years go by...!

We should have won it by now.
But we couldn't, so it falls to the next generation to finish what we were unable to finish.

(83,744 posts)Madison Kimrey first made headlines as the 12-year-old who would "restore your faith in the future of politics" when she called out North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) for dismissing teens in a powerful speech last fall. Now, the teen is back -- and this time, she has a few words for Phyllis Schlafly.

Her Letter in part.
Dear Ms. Schlafly,
Im a teenage girl who has been reading about you quite a bit in the news lately. It seems to me that you have absolutely no idea what women of my generation are all about. I can understand that because I often deal with older people who think that their generation is superior and my generation is the worst thing ever just because were different. Really though, I think since you want to be all up in the public eye, it would really do you a lot of good to understand things from the perspective of one of the young women who will be taking over this country soon.
Ive been thinking about how I can explain what feminism means to my generation in a way you might not have thought of before. I wanted to try to work from something we have in common, and its been kind of hard to find something I have in common with you. Then, it came to me. I bet you wear a bra.
I was reading recently about a company called Yellowberry that was started by a young woman because she took her younger sister bra shopping and her sister didnt like any of the choices. None of the bras fit her, and she felt the selections were too sexual. So she started a line of bras so that girls would have more options. As for myself, I shop at Victorias Secret. Its not because I want to be sexy or have any grand delusions of looking like one of their models. I shop there because they have different styles of bras so I can find something I think is pretty that fits me. I dont know where you shop for your bras, but I bet you have a favorite one. I bet you have that one bra thats comfortable and goes with just about everything. I bet the last thing you were thinking about when you bought that bra was what a man would think about it.
Well, making choices in our lives as young women is kind of like finding that favorite bra. Not all of us are going to fit into the same kind and not all of us are going to find the same style attractive. We all deserve to have as many choices as possible, and as women, we shouldnt be judging the choices made by other women. Choosing a bra is a very personal choice and is none of anyone elses business. We should be, as women, looking for ways we can expand the choices both for ourselves and other women, just as Megan Grassell did when she started Yellowberry. Equality doesnt mean women will all make the same choice. It means women will be treated the same no matter what choices they make.

Sadly it has to be fought again yet a child/ woman like Kimberly can do that. On the brink of becoming a woman and she has far more insight than many of her elders.
Thank you Cha, she is amazing. She and others like her, our hope.

(11,833 posts)Sen. Elizabeth Warren: Why Equal Pay Is Worth Fighting For
I honestly cant believe that were still arguing over equal pay in 2014.
When I started teaching elementary school after college, the public school district didn't hide the fact that it had two pay scales: one for men and one for women. Women have made incredible strides since then. But 40 years later, were still debating equal pay for equal work.
Women today still earn only 77 cents for every dollar a man earns, and theyre taking a hit in nearly every occupation. Bloomberg analyzed Census data and found that median earnings for women were lower than those for men in 264 of 265 major occupation categories. In 99.6 percent of occupations, men get paid more than women. Thats not an accident; thats discrimination.
The effects of this discrimination are real, and they are long lasting. Today, more young women go to college than men, but unequal pay makes it harder for them to pay back student loans. Pay inequality also means a tougher retirement for women. In Massachusetts, the average woman who collects Social Security will receive about $3,000 less every year compared to a man in a similar position, because benefits are tied to how much people earn when working.

Yet I wanted to thank you, lovemydog. It is about women. Yes it is. However it is the men that love and respect us that will make this work. Whitney's song is powerful, the same way your support is.
It means a lot to all of us!
I thank you.

I practice what is called Dry brushing. What this is is a natural brush like you get for showering, start brushing your legs in an upward motion, each leg, clear to the hip always brushing toward the heart, then brush the arms in an upward motion toward the heart also brush the belly. In several days at once a day you will have skin like silk. This dry brushing removes the dead skin and helps move the lympfatic system. So you are prettier and healthier

I just got 127,830 on Monkey Gems. My score totaled up and thankfully, I wrote it down. Then the screen went black, stayed that way for a long time and then a page appeared showing a variety of items. My score isn't showing on the leaderboard! Can this be fixed?
Thank you for your help!
